Be a part of something bigger than just another bank.

When you join Maine Savings, you become a member and part owner of the Credit Union. While it's a lot like becoming a customer at a bank, the difference is that membership ensures earnings are returned to you in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, and lower fees - instead of outside stockholders.

Eligibility

Eligibility is based on where you work, where you live, or your relationship to another member. If you're curious if you are eligible to join, give us a call at 800.273.6700 or stop in to one of our branches.

How to Join

To get the process started, fill out a membership application. We offer an online application, but you can also stop by any of our branches if you prefer.

This isn't the type of membership where you are responsible for a routine fee. Instead, you'll just need to buy a $5 "share" of Maine Savings by depositing $5 into a share account. As long as you have at least $5 in that account, you are a Credit Union member and owner with access to all our great services and benefits. If you decide to leave membership some day, you'll even get your $5 back! You can also join with a joint two-person or three-person membership. If you do that, it's still $5 per member, so your account would have to maintain a balance of $10 or $15, respectively.

The Compass Club member rewards program delivers discounts and other perks straight to your mobile device! Download the app and start saving at many local and national merchants within our community.

Details

Once you download the app, you will be alerted whenever you are in close proximity to a perk! That’s right, you don’t have to dig into a big list and try to remember where your discounts are. Just go about your day and the app will let you know when a perk is nearby.

To redeem the perk, all you have to do is pay with your Maine Savings debit or credit card. All Maine Savings debit and credit cards are included, even business accounts.

Free AD&D Insurance for Members

If you are part of the Maine Savings family, you are eligible for free Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance.

While AD&D Insurance should not be considered a replacement for life insurance or disability insurance, it can provided added peace of mind that your dependants will be financially supported in the event of death or a serious injury as a result of an accident. This insurance program is presented and administered by Selman & Company on behalf of Maine Savings.
