Protect Yourself from Fraud
Scammers may call, text, or email you to try to get personal information like your Social Security number or your account numbers. They may tell you you’ve won a prize or a trip and they need to verify these numbers for you to get your prize. They may claim you have prize winnings (or something else) that they’ll send you a check for - but beware, that check looks real but it’s a fake! There are many other ways scammers will try to talk you into giving out your information. The easiest way to protect yourself is simply never give your personal information - especially Social Security numbers or account numbers.
Maine Savings will NEVER call, text, or email you to ask you for your Social Security number, account number, debit card number, or any other sensitive information. But remember, when YOU call US, we will ask for additional information to verify who you are!
